Newstead Brass launch Summer with musical legends in Ripley

Newstead brass make their first appearance of the summer this Sunday, 12th June, with a concert on Ripley’s Crossley Park bandstand at 2.30 pm.  The concert is the first event of Ripley Town Councils ‘Bands in the Park’ series.  Each band has been asked to play a programme linked to the theme of ‘Musical Legends’

Newstead Brass will celebrate “Legends of Film, Stage, Radio, & Rock n Pop” with a varied programme including a number of pieces written by John Williams as well as chart favourites and music by local composer Eric Coates.

Admission to the concert is Free and the Crossley Park series continues each Sunday afternoon from June 26th to the end of July.

Newstead brass can also be heard at Nottingham University ‘Picnic in the Park' (12 noon on June 26th) and will be performing in ‘Brassed Off’ at the Nottingham Arts Theatre from July 6th to 9th before returning to Crossley Park on July 16th for the ‘Brass and Fireworks’ Spectacular as part of Ripley Music Festival.
