Newstead Brass are set to return to the Millennium Garden at Nottingham University to perform as part of the annual open garden event this Sunday, July 1st .
The Picnic in the Park event will run from 12pm to 3pm at the Millennium Garden, in the university campus off Lenton Hall Drive.
The event, now in its tenth year, has been organised by the Friends of University Park group, and people are encouraged to take along picnics.
As well as performances by the band, there will also be free activities including making willow globes, face-painting, rocket-making and pond-dipping and there will be refreshments on sale.
Chairman of the Friends group, Desmond O'Grady, who is also grounds manager at the university, said: "It is a really nice event. There is something for all ages and people can have a wander around the gardens in a nice, safe atmosphere."
