Newstead Brass and musical director Duncan Beckley have been working hard over the weekend recording tracks for their new CD, due to be available by early December, just in time for your Christmas present lists!Working with Ben Marshall from Direct Recording Services, the band spent over 5 hours on the afternoons of each of Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd October recording a variety of pieces designed to appeal to our regular concert audiences and win new admirers.16 tracks were recorded in all, although due to technical constraints not all may make it onto the final release. The selection includes a salvation army march, a hymn tune, two pieces each from young composers Paul Lovatt-Cooper and Dan Price, music from chart, stage and screen and featuring the bands acclaimed soloists.
Our thanks to all at Hucknall Central Methodist Church for use of the church to record, Rob Bushnell for his invaluable input and support, and friends from the brass band world who joined us to make the weekend go so smoothly.
Final track listings and release details will appear on the website over the next few weeks so keep checking back!
