Newstead Brass are aiming for a pot of gold when they perform later this month to support both the Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People and Emmanuel House Day Centre for the homeless. An ‘Evening Music and Song’, at Chilwell Road Methodist Church in Beeston on Saturday April 16th at 7.30 pm will feature Newstead Brass, Lucy Hall (Soprano) and Andy Ward (Tenor). Broadcaster Colin Slater MBE will compere the event which is promoted by the Stapleford and Sandiacre Rotary Club. Tickets cost £7.50 from the venue (0115 9431164) or at the door. A band spokesman added, “We’re pleased to be supporting the Stapleford and Sandiacre Rotary Club in this annual event alongside two very fine vocalists. The concert will feature a wide variety of music with something to appeal to everyone with two very worthwhile causes set to benefit.”
