There’s a feast of brass music on offer this weekend when the Bolsover Festival of Brass takes place at South Normanton’s Post Mill Centre and Pinxton Village Hall on Sunday October 3rd.
Nearly 40 brass bands are taking part in the event, in which each band performs an entertaining 20 minute programme, giving the audience a wide variety of music throughout the day. There will be prizes for the best performing bands in each of the six graded sections.
The event has attracted bands from across the midlands and north of England with the first bands due play at 9.00 am in each venue. The £5 ticket price allows admission to all performances in both venues.
Newstead will be playing late afternoon in the Post Mill centre.
